Thanks for your interest in Mountain One Helicopters (M1) flight training. M1 has two diverse locations.  Mountain One North is based just north of Denver, Colorado at Erie Airport (KEIK).  Mountain One South is located just south of Denver, at Centennial Airport (KAPA).

We fly the turbocharged Enstrom 280FX, two Schweizer 300Cs, a Robinson R44, and the turbine-powered Enstrom 480B. A majority of our training at the north location is off-airport, mountain-based flying surrounded by the highest peaks in the lower 48.

In addition to our locations north and south of Denver (a 10-15 minute flight to the Rockies), we also operate a mountain campus near Telluride, in Southwest Colorado.

We offer flight training from the initial private though certified flight instructor (CFI) and all ratings in between. We also provide mountain specific courses for pilots with previous flight experience, and Enstrom only courses for pilots interested in these wonderful helicopters. In addition we are partnered with a fixed-wing flight school at our Erie location, making it very convenient for pilots looking to obtain multiple ratings, or to use an airplane for building hours.

Erie Tri-County Municipal Airport is a sleepy, uncontrolled airfield that provides an excellent home base with uncrowded skies while being minutes from class Bravo and Delta airspace of Denver International Airport and Rocky Mountain Metro. We don't have a tower telling us where and how to fly but have excellent opportunities to practice radio skills and flight procedures at these nearby airports.

Centennial Airport is one of the busiest general avaition airports in the country. It is in class Delta airspace, and provides students with the experience necessary to operate at a busy airport. Mountain One South is located in the Heliplex, a facility dedicted to helicopters.

Our mountain campus near Telluride offers high altitude flying between 8,000 and 12,500 MSL on private land that covers over 10,000 acres of spectacular alpine terrain.

We look for the right fit between your goals as a pilot and our flight training programs. If we believe your requirements will be better served at a different school, we will certainly tell you. We are not a pilot factory. We take a limited number of students each year to ensure the best possible training environment, which means better access to helicopters, flexibility in scheduling, and a truly customized program based on your goals.

Our chief pilot, Jack Ferguson, is a certified Enstrom pilot for the Airsure Enstrom insurance program. Please contact us anytime to discuss your requirements, our rates, and availability as we take a limited number of students each year.
