Powerplant-
The 480B is powered by the Rolls-Royce 250-C20W turbine engine. With over 29,000 units produced and some 160 million flight hours logged, the Rolls-Royce 250 series engine has earned its position as the standard of the industry, with an outstanding record of reliability and low operating costs.
In the 480B, the engine is derated from a maximum shaft horse power (SHP) of 420 to 305 SHP for 5 minutes and 277 SHP continuous and is able to deliver full continuous power up to 13,000 ft or to 120° F, which means excellent hot and high performance. Rolls-Royce website.

Speed, Range and Endurance-
The 480B's ability to cover up to 370 nm or stay aloft for 4.7 hours makes it more practical for any length of mission and opens up the options for helicopter travel and commercial work that other ships in the class cannot match. We love the 480B's range out here in the Western states with limited fuel-stop availability and often large distances to cover each flight. And with a VNE of 125 knots it will do it quickly.












Hover Performance-
There is not much the 480B can't handle here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with the largest peaks in the lower 48. Missions above 12,000 MSL are commonplace and the 480B's excellent hover performance gives us the ability to operate when and where we need to with confidence.









Useful Load-
Depending on equipment choices the 480B has a useful load of nearly 1,200 pounds. Thanks to a variety of options for fuel loading, baggage stowage, and passenger configuration the 480B provides exceptional and unique flexibility when it comes to loading and meeting mission requirements.
