Simply put the 480B is unbeatable when acquisition and operating costs are compared to performance and the helicopter's ability to carry out a number of diverse missions.
Acquisition Costs-
The 2008 480B base price is $889,500 with standard equipment. Acquisition costs on a well-equipped civilian purpose helicopter typically run in the $945,000 to $995,00 range depending on selected options and avionics. Please see standard and optional equipment list with prices via the links to your right.
When looking at any helicopter acquisition it's critical to consider more than just up front costs, what counts moving forward is service and support.
Warranty-
Enstrom's exceptional warranty program means peace of mind for new owners and the company provides all owners outstanding factory and service center support. All Enstrom helicopters come with a 2 year or 1,000 hour warranty that covers everything from tip to tail. Enstrom really does a good job supporting ships in the field regardless of age. Our service center partner, Vector Air, will tell you they are often more impressed with Enstrom's factory support than that of some extremely large fixed wing companies they also work with.
DOCS-
The 480B's direct operating costs (DOCs) are the some of the lowest in its class at roughly $255 an hour and when performance is considered are the lowest. Enstrom includes all component overhaul and retirement costs in it's DOC calculations (unlike some manufacturers ) and we have found the company's numbers to be quite accurate with slight variations for local fuel and maintenance labor rates. Please see the full DOC breakdown via the links to your right.
