The 280FX's simply offers outstanding performance in the piston helicopter class.

Powerplant-
The 280FX is powered by the Lycoming HIO-360-F1AD turbo-charged engine. The engine will produce full power up (225 HP) to 12,000 DA and the 280FX provides true hot and high performance. We count on the helicopter to get us almost anywhere we need to go in Colorado and the helicopter handles the high mountain passes with ease. Lycoming website.

Speed, Range and Endurance-
The 280FX has the ability to cover up to 239nm or stay aloft for 3.5 hours and the optional auxiliary fuel tank will increase these numbers by 30%. The helicopter cruises comfortably at 90 to 100 knots based on elevation.












Hover Performance-
The 280FX offers excellent hover performance that can be replied upon on at altitude thanks to the turbo-charger. We count on the 280FX to get us safety in and out of spots that other piston powered helicopters can't even fly to.









Useful Load-
The 280FX is almost impossible to overload thanks to the generous useful load up to 930 pounds based on equipment options. With full fuel of 40 gallons or 240 pounds the 280FX still provides almost 700 hundred pounds for passengers and baggage.
